A 29er dual suspension bike is a dual suspension mountain bike that has slightly larger wheels than the more commonly used mountain bikes. A usual mountain bike uses 26” wheels whilst the 29er uses 29” wheels.
The 29er is an off-road bike generally used for touring, trekking and cyclo-cross. There are many advantages to the 29er full suspension bike which include: better traction, more comfortable, roll over obstacles easily and provides a less bumpy ride.
The Dual Suspension bike is generally more expensive than a single suspension 29er bike, but this is for a reason. Not only is the ride more comfortable, but it is a lot faster in down hill riding. Generally when a single suspension bike hits continuous bumps, the front wheel will jump up, slowing down the pace. A dual suspension bike will absorb the bumps, staying low to the ground over each individual bump.
The 29er Dual Suspension Mountain Bike does have some disadvantages such as increased weight and price, but for any serious off-road riding it is a must.
