Bell Helmets Overview
Bell was established in 1945 by Roy Richter and was initially concerned with automotive parts. After the death of two close friends in 1946, from car racing accidents, Roy dedicated his time to developing safety equipment for car racing purposes. Over the ensuing years Roy’s helmets became more and more regarded and used in car racing events which lead to the establishment of Bell Helmets in 1956. Up until 1975 Bell Helmets chief concerned was with car and motorbike racing, sponsoring many teams and credited for saving many lives. In 1975 Bell developed its first effective bicycle helmet which became the standard which by all other bicycle helmets were to be measured. This trend of innovation and design continues today with Bell being one of the world leaders in bicycle helmet manufacture and distribution. Bell’s helmet range includes; Road, Race, Mountain, BMX/Downhill, BMX/Skate, Fusion Sports, Youth and Kids.
