Tubes Like tyres, tubes, range in size depending on the tyre being used. For every tyre there is a corresponding tube. Modern tubes have two different styles of valves used for inflation, Presta or French. The valve which allows for the highest tyre pressure (100psi+) is French valves, typically used on road bikes and high end mountain bikes. Schrader valves are used on larger, wider tyres which do not require high pressure (80psi or less).
