Dramatic volcanic landscapes Varied inland and coastal cycling Glaciers, geysers and waterfalls en route .
Iceland is a destination unlike any other on earth, a country shaped by violent eruptions and remorseless glaciers. Few places can match the diversity and drama of cycling through its natural wonders. The network of country roads provides an excellent framework for our journey, giving us access to some of the most impressive sites in the south of the country. Moreover in such a sparsely populated country there is little traffic, adding to the sense of glorious isolation. Our undulating route gives a firsthand view of some of mother nature's most fearsome creations, including the infamous Eyafjallajokull Volcano, the colourful mountains of Landmannalaugar and the 25m high mass of thundering water known as the Skogafoss Waterfall. We contrast these towering sites with the rolling farmland of the interior and the vast plains of glacial silt along the coast. The variety of landscapes and natural phenomena makes this an unforgettable week's ride.

Cycle through spectacular desert scenery Visit Petra, the magnificent rose-red city Camp under the stars in the Wadi Rum.
Jordan is an ideal place for a one-week cycle tour with incredibly varied desert scenery and a wealth of historic and archaeological treasures, not least at Petra, unarguably one of the most spectacular sites in the world. This is a fantastic week where the cycling is a thrilling compliment to the cultural activities. The cycling does not involve great distances but we do cover a range of landscapes which get us closer to the environment we are visiting and gives us a more intimate insight into this fascinating country. In one week it would be hard to fit much more in. The cycling will see us explore the fertile region to the north of Amman, pedaling through the olive groves and small villages. Known as the bread-basket of Jordan this area is also the most populated and was once of great significance in the Roman period. As a result Gerasa, now known as Jerash, was established and became one of the wealthiest and luxurious of the self-governing Decapolis. We will have a morning to explore and absorb the atmosphere of this incredible place. Our journey will then take in the spectacular views from Mt Nebo before we embark on a fantastic descent to the Dead Sea. Here we will have time to relax and nourish the skin before we begin 2 full days exploring the ancient city of Petra, the highlight for many visitors to Jordan. For the first day we will leave the bikes behind and explore this vast site by foot on trails that take us away from the crowds and give a sense of what it might have been like to live here as a Nabatean. Once we have been stunned by the sites and sounds of Petra we will then commence the best riding day of the trip through the desert of Wadi Araba. This is an incredible and exhilarating day on an unforgettable road and the fullest and best day of cycling. To complete our trip we will have time to relax in the Red Sea and then star-gaze in the Wadi Rum in our private camp before heading back to Amman.

Cycling through the beautiful landscapes and villages of southern India.
Southern India is a magical place: beautiful landscapes, fascinating towns and villages, long white beaches and superb food, an excellent place to explore by bike. In the cool heights of the Western Ghats the sanctuaries at Bandipur and Mudumalai hide wild elephants, tigers and leopards in jungle and bamboo forests. We cycle round old forts and up to religious rock shrines as well as through colourful villages where rural life has remained little-changed for centuries. Further south, in Kerala, Hinduism has produced some of India's most elaborately decorated temples. A relaxing boat trip on the quiet backwaters here offers a change of pace from the bicycles, before the final coastal ride to Varkala and a chance to laze on the beach and reflect on an unforgettable experience of rural India.
