The Protos is De Rosa’s most iconic bike. Its design is truly revolutionary. Many other manufacturers are now trying to replicate the oversized downtube and compliance characteristics of this frame. Stiffness and power are of utmost importance in the world of competitive cycling and it is perhaps that, above all else, that truly captures the essence of the Protos.
Overall stiffness is at the forefront of every design decision, but nowhere is this as evident as in the Protos down tube. The Protos tubes is big and boxy for maximum stiffness. It is constructed with a combination of T800, T1000 and XN600. This combination makes for some of the stiffest and strongest carbon available. It is additionally woven with more flexible carbon in key strategic places. The result is massive power transfer for sprints and climbing but still comfortable long rides.
The Protos includes a harmonic damping system in the rear to tame rutted roads. The chainstays and seatstays have a wide-narrow pattern that enhances comfort and drivetrain efficiency. All this makes for an unexpectedly smooth, comfortable ride.
The Protos frame is internally butted, removing the carbon internally where it isn’t needed. The resultant frame weight is only around 900g, so the bike can be built very light with the right components. Lightness and power are a magic recipe to win races, combine that with a good level of comfort and you have an incredible race bike.
Adding a disc brake system is just one more way in which DeRosa provides the versatility required for cyclist and bicycle to merge the nuances of their individual souls.

For faulty products, Como Bike Pty Ltd offer a 14 DAY REPLACEMENT WARRANTY, from the date you receive your product. They do not offer a satisfaction guarantee on any of their products, however due to their high level of customer service, they will always endeavour to keep customers happy and satisfied.
If your product is faulty, it will be replaced with an identical product. If they cannot replace the product, they will offer you the option of choosing another product of the same value, or provide you with a refund for the total value of the faulty product.
Please note: Standard postage fees apply to all return orders. Where the return relates to a faulty item, the replacement product will be sent out to you, at no charge, within 5 working days from the date we receive the faulty product.
