The Santos Tour Down Under is our chance to watch live the pros in action - but on Monday 18th January, it's your turn!
Monday marks the only rest day for pros during the Tour.. but not for you! Come join the party on the hill - the inaugural BikeExchange Norton Summit Strava Challenge.
With fresh legs at the beginning of the tour, you can take on the 5.6km Norton Summit ascent and make a grab for the 2016 Climber of the Day (male and female) titles.
Just make sure you've entered your details on BikeExchange and that you ride the challenge during our road closure time (1.30m - 3pm) in order to be eligible for all prizes, including fastest male and female climbers of the day and random give aways.
What's at the party?
If you head to Norton between 13:30 - 15:00 (1.30pm - 3pm) you can take advantage of the Red Berry Espresso team selling great coffee at the base. Up on the summit you'll find food trucks, free massages (first in, best dressed), and great tunes from our guest DJ.
You can even do some pro spotting! Some of the Orica-GreenEDGE riders like Alex Edmondson and Damian Howson will be using the event as a training session. Thankfully for the rest of us, they aren't eligible for prizes.
The team from lululemon athletica will also be on board offering some great cycling-skewed stretches and yoga moves for those who are keen on a quality warm-down after all their work. So even if you don't have the legs to match the pros, you will certainly feel like one at the BikeExchange Norton Summit Strava Challenge.
Prizes for each climber of the day include (see below for important information about prize eligibility):
- One hot lap each (for the male and female winners) in the Orica-GreenEDGE team car during Stage 6 on Sunday 24th January - that alone should be plenty of motivation to get your mountain goat on!
- Two VIP tickets to watch the Stage 6 race
- Two tickets each to the Santos Tour Down Under Legends Dinner on Saturday 23rd January
- A brand-spanking new BikeExchange and CyclingTips kit. Love new kit day!
Winners will be announced Friday 22nd January, giving people a few days to post their Strava times (and ensure they're also registered on BikeExchange).
We'll be releasing an exclusive memento kit for finishers. Orders will be available from the 18th January but just bear in mind there will be a slight wait period before the kit arrives. Order your memento kit here
