Just Ride It – 2019 Range Overview

This is sponsored content, created in conjunction with the team at Just Ride It

Established in 2011, Just Ride It started with a clear mindset to service the single speed and fixed gear market. It was apparent that riders of these simple fixed machines didn't want a mass-produced bike, they wanted something unique, special, personal. It’s for that reason Just Ride It (JRI) became a dedicated custom bike shop.

Over the last seven years, the Australian (based in Fitzroy, Victoria) business has continually developed its offerings, adding new products and manufacturers on an almost monthly basis. Striving to offer something for everyone, be it a new rider or someone with years of experience, Just Ride It offers budget bikes for the casual rider or high-performance machines with a dedicated purpose

For 2019, the team at Just Ride It have introduced four new models into the fold. Each complete with their own unique paint schemes serving as a blank slate for lovers of fixed gear bikes and single speed bikes, read on for more information on these simple and stylish steeds.

Building on their many years designing and building track bikes for real-world conditions, the team at JRI believe their Europe is the ultimate street bike. The culmination of the lessons learned from every bike they've ever put on the street, the Europa is track-capable but optimized for the roads.

The tight but not excessive geometry is said to strike the perfect balance of handling and comfort, ideal for the cafe runs or pulling a few g's at the 'drome. The Europa comes in a gloss white.

Taking design queues from industrial aesthetics, the JRI team has adopted a new model for the upcoming year. Taking the proven Townie frameset and giving it the heavy metal treatment has resulted in the Matte Purple Rain.

Weighing in at 7kg, the Purple Rain is lightweight and features a stiff and efficient track-inspired 6061 aluminium frame. The modern design works hand in hand with the company’s "low pro" geometry, that makes the bike equally at home on the street and at the track. As per its Townie progenitor, the Purple Rain includes a carbon fork and steering tube, custom cut seatpost, and quality components including a Shimano Nexus track chain, bladed spokes and high flange hubs.

  • Price: AU$999

The 2019 JRIFixed Team Bike is based heavily on the Purple Rain, complete with a carbon fork and a 6061 aluminium frame, but sports a race-ready build kit and a custom colour scheme limited to just 25 units.

Not to be confused with inferior CroMoly/hi-tensile steel products sporting a similar finish, JRI claims it’s 6061 aluminium alloy frame is light, stiff and highly-corrosion resistant resulting in a very nimble ride that will provide years of enjoyment.
