SE Bikes Cycling Products for Sale

SE bikes have always been a brand associated with BMX Bikes and BMX racing.

In 1970, Scot Breithaupt unofficially organised the first BMX event in an empty car park at Long Beach, California. This event was a defining factor in kick-starting the BMX boom of the 70s and 80s.

By the late 1970s, Breithaupt was promoting races, nationwide tours and creating motocross societies at the very young age of 14. In 1977 he founded Scot Enterprises, which eventually transformed into SE Racing. From here the STR-1 was born, SE Racing’s first ever BMX Bike, closely followed by the famous alloy “PK Ripper”.

The Iconic SE Bikes

The PK Ripper was a defining bike for SE Racing as it was the first truly successful aluminium bicycle frame. This bike revolutionised the way BMX bikes were constructed and the materials that were used.

Incredibly, two products that were conceived in the 1970s, have survived on the market today, mixing old-school looks with modern geometry. Both the PK Ripper Elite and Quadangle, along with other SE Bikes Cycling Products, can be purchased today at BikeExchange.

It wasn’t until late 2002 that SE Racing was bought by Advanced Sport International and the name changed to SE Bikes. While their name has changed over the past 40 years, their philosophy of producing innovative, stylish, and game-changing bikes and cycling products has not.
