Making the 2016 BikeExchange Top Bike Product Shortlist - the GoPro Hero4 Session.
Point of View footage has changed the way we watch mountain biking.
Where would we be without Claudio Caluori’s downhill World Cup course previews? Aaron Gwin’s footage ripping apart any track on which he rides? The onboard footage of Nino Schurter vs Julien Absalon, or just reliving your mates crash over and over again? GoPro has been at the forefront of this revolution and with the GoPro Hero4 Session, the revolution continues.
By far the biggest attraction to the GoPro Hero4 Session is the size; 50% smaller and 40% lighter than the Hero4 Silver, it is a pint sized package packed full of tech. The Hero4 Session may not have the video quality of the Hero4 Black, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still capture crystal clear High Definition video. It can record video in 1440p at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, slow motion video in 720p at 100fps and capture still photos at 8MP.
GoPro has done away with the traditional waterproof housing as the Hero4 Session camera is waterproof rated to 10m. There are three interchangeable frames with different mounting options, all of which are compatible with existing GoPro gear like chest and helmet mounts. As with previous GoPro models, the ease of use was at the forefront of design with the one-button control, auto low light, highlight tag favourite moments, auto image rotation and dual microphones, all aiding in delivering professional quality video to the masses.
The Hero4 Session can be paired via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to the GoPro Smart Remote, GoPro App on smart phone or simply used by itself. An established market leader for many years, GoPro set out to design a camera that would be a “GoPro killer”. With its high quality video and miniscule size, this feature packed camera will continue to see GoPro leading the field and is one of our hot products for 2016.
