Making the 2016 BikeExchange Top Bike Shortlist - the Yeti SB6C.
Yeti has long been known for pushing the envelope with innovation when it comes to suspension design. They have given us the likes of Linear Guide Technology on the 303, Switch Link Technology on the previous SB series and now the Switch Infinity Technology on the SB6C. For Yeti to have surpassed its own benchmark enduro bike, the SB66, you know the SB6C is going to be one hell of a bike.
The racing debut of the SB6C was nothing short of astonishing with Jared Graves piloting the bike to back-to-back round wins in the Enduro World Series, first on the company’s home turf in Colorado and then at the mountain biking Mecca of Whistler. With Graves having a heavy influence on the design of the bike, it has race inspired geometry, a revolutionary suspension design and enough travel to ride at warp speed down any track.
Yeti has created a bike that blurs the lines between trail and downhill bikes. The light weight carbon frame and efficient pedalling platform mean this bike is no slouch on a cross country trail or climb and the modern long, low and slack geometry mean it will conquer all downhill trails if you’re up to it. With many build options available and Super Model good looks to match its Super Bike status, Yeti’s SB6C is the most envied enduro bike on the market and this is why it is in our top bikes of 2016.
