Veloroos Victorious!

"Done – What's Next?"

Natasha Horne sums it up in a way only someone who lives for this kind of challenge could. The Roos have maintained their cracking pace to finish the seven day Race Across America in 6 days, 13 hours and 27 minutes!

But that's not to say it's been a smooth Sunday ride. Julie-Anne Hazlett, Natasha Horne, Sarah Matthews and Nicole Stanners have each managed to keep dehydration, sleep deprivation, and exhaustion at bay over the 4,828km time trial finishing each stage of the race in good health and in surprisingly good spirits, no doubt in part due to the fantastic support from their 12 strong team of multinational experts.

The support team hasn't been without their own challenges dealing not only with the well being of the Roos, but with the technical, mechanical, and logistical nightmare that is driving from one side of the United States to the other.

Although the Race Across America was certainly about pushing the limits of what they were capable of, the Veloroos were also turning the cranks to raise money for two awesome charities: The Amy Gillett Foundation and Tour de Cure.

The Roos have been strong since the halfway point. Check out the video here

The Amy Gillett foundation raises funds in order to improve cycling conditions on Australian roads and seeks to raise awareness of cycling related accidents and their causes. Tour de Cure is all about riding to cure cancer for all. The funds raised by the Veloroos will go towards the prevention of tragic road cycling accidents and towards funding for research and support programs helping those affected by cancer.

The Veloroos have achieved a monumental task, we just can't wait to see what challenge they set for themselves next!

If you would like to help, please consider donating to the Amy Gillett Foundation and Tour de Cure.
