If it is said that the Santos Tour Down Under rewards aggression, then Orica-GreenEDGE's Simon Gerrans certainly made his point loud and clear at today's San Remo Pasta Stage 1. Smoking up the final climb of Mengler's Hill, Gerro nabbed the leader's jersey on the first day, putting Orica-GreenEDGE firmly in the cross-hairs.
The climb was anticipated to shake up the peloton, but sprint superstar and one of the race favourites Andre Greipel proved he could keep his pace, settling into second. Tough by name and clearly tough by nature, Steele von Hoff took out third. The 2014 Santos Tour Down Under is off to a flying start!

And a huge congratulations to Shara Gillow (Orica-AIS) who took out Stage 3 of the Santos Women's Cup, followed by team mates Loes Gunnewijk and Valentina Scandolara. We couldn't be happier for Orica-AIS, who now sit on top of the leader board with 36 points, followed by Boss Racing (16 points), Specialized Securitor (16 points) and SASI (11 points). There is no mistaking - Orica-AIS women are in super form and looking sensational ahead of their departure to Europe. Well done!
