Santos Tour Down Under 2014 Bupa Stage 4 Results

Today’s Santos Tour Down Under Bupa Stage 4 was always going to come down to the sprint, and superstar Andre Greipel delivered the goods, crossing the line first, followed by Lotto Belisol team mate Jurgen Roelandts. Gerro claimed back five seconds from Cadel, who dropped a chain… It’s all been happening today!

“I think we finished first and second and this says enough that it was a real team effort today; it was a really nervous stage all day. Orica-GreenEDGE had six guys at the front, so we put the pressure on after the sprint and we’re really happy we got the win.

I know this area quite good, I knew the last climb also so I knew it was all open with the big crosswind there. It was an incredible team effort tod and I think we deserved the win today,” said Greipel.

Today’s Santos Tour Down Under 2014 Bupa Stage 4 has also been a ripper for the 7000 or so riders who participated in the Bupa ride, which took cyclists along the same route as the pros. It was great seeing them all stream to the finish line at Victor Harbour, most of them looking like they’d got a taste of just how tough a day it is in the office for the pros. Well done, all!
