The popular WSMTB 12Hour race at Yellomundee is back on 8 August 2009. This year it is sponsored by JetBlack Products and run by Rocky Trail Entertainment, who are throwing in another race - their MTB Grand Prix - on the same day!
The JetBlack WSMTB 12Hour Race will have the traditional 9am-9pm format, this year also with Elite Solo categories. The winners of those are racing for prize pools of $500 plus $40 per rider in the male category and $200 plus $40 per rider in the respective female category. The more Elites enter, the bigger the prize pool - the winner takes all!
The Rocky Trail MTB Grand Prix will have a four hour racing format with a preceding qualifying “hot lap” to determine the starting grid.
Qualifying starts at 10am, racing starts at 11am
The track will be similar, but more relaxed, more comfortable, easier and shorter than the 12Hour track.
It is ideal for first-time racers who want to experience the undeniably exciting buzz of an endurance race event and get into racing.
A plus is also, that you won't need lights, as MTB Grand Prix finishes between 3-4pm.
If you want to get yourself that edge Australian Mountain Biking Clinics (AMBC) will be there to help. AMBC will be sending a few trainers to spread their magic with the popular Racelines Series on the Saturday morning before the event.
There are heaps of things the two races have in common:
Major sponsor JetBlack Products will have a lot of prizes to be won - spot prizes, as well as some category prizes
Certificates of achievement will be presented to category winners
Many giveaways from our race supporters
There are about 20 racing jerseys left - up for sale on the day
