About The Race

Virtual Race Across America: The Challenge of a Life Time

For 36 years RAAM has been challenging ultra cyclists from around the globe to push their physical and mental limits to the farthest reaches. Starting in Oceanside, under one of the longest piers in California, RAAM spans 3000 miles, climbs 175,000 feet, crosses 12 states and finishes at City Dock in Annapolis, Maryland, the east coast sailing mecca.
From 16 – 28 June 2020, the first Virtual Race Across America (VRAAM) will be held, powered by FulGaz, an app that looks and feels as close to riding outdoors as possible. This means that riders all over the world can watch or enter.
VRAAM is a platform for all interested participants and followers to pursue a positive pathway during these challenging times. This exciting and innovative sporting initiative is focused on helping to generate awareness and support for mental health.
