Mongoose Cycling products

View:

Mongoose is a name that has been entwined with the world of BMX cycling. In 1974, Skipp Hess made the decision to start making BMX products out of his home in Simi Valley, California and BMX Products Inc. was born. After initially manufacturing wheels, the first Mongoose BMX bike was produced in 1975 and within a year it had become a top seller and one of the coolest names in BMX.

Mountain Biking then burst onto the scene in the late 80’s and BMX Products were seen an excellent choice for budding riders to use as their skills developed. Developing a range of bike products for all types of terrain gave rise to a new company mantra “You can do anything on a Mongoose”.

In 2001, BMX Products Inc. merged with Pacific Cycle and has since expanded, effectively forming two sets of products, one catering to professional and high-performance riders, and the other for entry level riders, marketed in department stores the world over.

Mongoose Bikes

The Mongoose name can be found adorning the downtube of a significant range of bikes throughout Australia and the world, with a focus on creating a bike to suit any rider, regardless of age or experience.

BMX is where it all began and are still ridden by elite BMX riders to this day. In addition to sponsoring the pro’s, entry-level options are also available to suit kids and young riders.

The brand has expanded to produce its own line of mountain bikes covering all disciplines of the sport. In recent years, the focus has been on affordable trail, cross country and dirt jump bikes.

Staying true to its mantra, the brand also offers a range of different models suited to the urban fitness-orientated cyclists who may prefer a hybrid](/s/hybrid-bikes/mongoose).
