View:

Founded in 1950, Pearl Izumi was the first true bicycle racing apparel made in Japan. Initially beginning after a father wanted to support his son’s aspiring road racing dreams, the brand is now a global force and a part of the Shimano empire, sold throughout Europe, Asia, and the U.S.A.

Whilst the Japanese company's main focus has always been creating high-performance active wear and shoes for cyclists, Pearl Izumi has expanded into a number of sporting disciplines, designing activewear and accessories for cross-country skiing, running and triathlon.

Pearl Izumi Range of Cycling Products

Pearl Izumi’s road range of cycling clothing utilises lightweight, durable, moisture wicking materials to create three key product tiers.

At the base level, the Select series is aimed at the recreational rider and is Pearl Izumi’s most affordable option. Clothes in this Select range typically feature a more relaxed cut and simpler construction.

The Elite series has club riders and cycling enthusiasts in mind and offers high value for money at a medium price. Compared to the Select Series, the Elite garments are often more fitted and use lighter and more breathable materials.

Sitting at the top, the P.R.O series is aimed at professionals and those wanting the best on offer. This gear features an athletic cut and uses premium materials, often with aerodynamics in mind.

The three categories are comprised of a wide range of jerseys, base layers, bib shorts, socks, vests, caps and gloves.

Adding to the three tiers of clothing designed for road use, the brand also offers an extensive range of mountain bike clothing, including jersey, jacket and short options for the modern trail and enduro rider.

In addition to apparel, the brand offers a range of cycling shoes in both road and mountain bike variants. The range follows the same Select/Elite/P.R.O progression as the apparel range, with models at the top end seeing reduced weight and high-quality composites used.
