With the rise in popularity of cyclocross, more and more riders are turning to purchasing a frame and customising the build of the bike to suit their needs. This ability for customisation is one of the main advantages or building your bike from the frame up as opposed to buying a complete cyclocross bike. Additionally, some cyclocross bikes share a number of components with road bikes, so perhaps you have a handful of older parts just waiting for a lease on life.

Whilst looking similar to that of a road bike frame, there are differences in the geometry of the frames that allow for the common features that appear on cyclocross bikes such as wider tyres and more ground clearance to clear obstacles.
