“I guess every team’s in the same position, they’re all feeling the pain, so ah, I think we’re just handling it a little bit better and doing a little bit better than some of the other teams out there.”
After the three gruelling days on the bike, the Veloroos have made it to the half way point of their seven day journey across the United States of America. The team is looking strong having progressed out of the intensity of the desert into the wide, flat expanse of the American mid-west. The only thing they have to contend with here is the wind, the other teams and their own minds.
Spirits look to be in good shape; if you look closely it seems as though singing is a great way to keep the mind focused, and to stay positive when surely every inch of your being is hurting.
The Veloroos fly through the stunning American country side dotted with abandoned farmhouses, rows upon rows of crops, the occasional windmill and every now and then, a rider from another team.
They’ve taken a good lead and if they keep up their current pace they are in hot contention for setting a new World Record time!
