Southern Exposure presents the Surfcoast Six Hour Mountain Bike Festival at 4 pm on Saturday the 27th of October 2007
The Surfcoast 6 Hour Mountain Bike Festival has been designed to combine participant’s stamina and skills over a period of six hours. Riders are responsible for lighting there bikes and being self sufficient.
The last Mountain Bike Race of this nature, held in New Zealand, attracted 3,000 riders from all walks of life (corporate groups, sports clubs, school and university teams, individuals etc).
As a Festival style event the Surfcoast Six Hour will attract various trade stalls including food, equipment and clothing specific to riding; and a stage for music.
The race loops through the camp site; making its way into the forest on challenging single track.
This race is designed to encourage riders from the novice to elite.
Southern Exposure is committed to developing the Surfcoast 6 Hour Mountain Bike Festival over 3 years. The objective is to grow the event and showcase the area as a world class destination for mountain biking and eco tourism.
With the possibility of a Six, Twelve and Twenty Four Hour Race Series already in the pipeline; Southern Exposure is commitment to responsible land care; and joint venturing with local authorities to develop the sport of mountain biking.
We look forward to meeting up with you on the 27th of October 2007 & don’t forget to bring your surf board as Bells Beach isn’t far away and a good opportunity to cool off.
